Learning Objectives
After completing this 1-hour continuing education course, the health care professional will be able to:
- Describe health care professionals’ role in increasing access to emergency contraception
- List the public health benefits of this medication
- State the indications for use, dosing and treatment interval for emergency contraception
- Describe the pharmacology of progestin-only and combined hormonal emergency contraception
- List clinical issues in provision of emergency contraception to women
