If you are having trouble creating your account, please contact the help desk at 850-385-7915 during business hours or e-mail aschelp@learnsomething.com Preventing Fraud, Waste and Abuse Training ProgramAs part of the Medicare Part D - Prescription Drug Benefit, CMS released final guidance in April 2006 for compliance guidance to all Medicare Part D Sponsors titled "CMS Prescription Drug Benefit Manual, Chapter 9 - Part D Program to Control Fraud, Waste and Abuse". Section 50.2.3 of the Manual dictates that all Sponsors and their "downstream entities", which include pharmacists and pharmacy workforce members engaged in delivering any Medicare services, receive general and specialized training to prevent fraud, waste and abuse. As of December 31, 2009 and annually thereafter, all pharmacists and pharmacy staff are required to have completed training.Click here for more information. CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE THESE AND OTHER COURSES HIPAA Privacy Training for the Pharmacy WorkplaceComing in contact with and processing personal health information (PHI) is a routine part of the pharmacy associate’s job. Ensuring that a patient’s privacy is not violated is mandated by Federal (and sometimes State) law and there are penalties for failing to protect personal health information. This course answers you questions while providing an overview of the HIPAA Privacy laws and the patient rights it was written to protect. It is required training for all members of the workforce with access to protected health information. HIPAA Security Basics Training for the Pharmacy WorkplaceProtecting electronic personal health information (e-PHI) is mandated for pharmacists and technicians. Your company develops and implements many procedures to protect e-PHI and many of those take place “behind the scenes”. Pharmacists and technicians ensure the successful implementation of security measures by following store policies and procedures related to HIPAA security. This course review administrative, physical, and technical safeguards mandated by the HIPAA Security requirements; describes required policies and procedures; and introduces basic concepts of information security.
